Bayarsaikhan Tumurdavaa


Bayarsaikhan Tumurdavaa is the Senior Agriculture Economist for the Russian Federation.

Mr. Tumurdavaa, Mongolian national, joined the Bank in 2006 as senior rural development specialist. He worked in multiple regions of the Bank and more recently in Latin America and the Caribbean Region. His work is focused on agriculture policies and institutional reforms, agri-business, agriculture research and innovation, water management, climate resilience, food security, and regional cooperation.

Before joining the Bank he worked at FAO, ADB, and the Mongolian Government. Mr. Tumurdavaa holds Bachelor of Economics degree from the School of Economics in Bratislava (Czechoslovakia), MSc in Agriculture Development from the University of London (UK), and PhD in Agriculture Economics from the University of New England (Australia).
