Allan Oliver


Allan Tobalbal Oliver is the Senior Agriculture Specialist for Papua New Guinea based in Port Moresby.  

A PNG national, Mr. Oliver joined the World Bank in 2010 as the Operations Officer for Rural, Environment and Natural Resource Development, and he now leads the PNG Agriculture Commercialization and Diversification Project, one of the World Bank’s largest projects in Papua New Guinea, as well as supporting other agricultural work across the Pacific region.

Prior to joining the World Bank, Mr. Oliver worked for private sector groups, government institutions, and development organizations focusing mainly on the research and development of agriculture research systems in Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands.

Mr. Oliver graduated with a Bachelor of Science in forestry from the Papua New Guinea University of Technology and holds a Master of Science in Tropical Crop Production from the University of Reading in the UK.
