The World Bank’s Transport team under its Program “Resilient Transport in Pakistan” aims to enhance the climate resilience of urban and rural transport infrastructure in Pakistan’s provinces. The program is being funded by the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) through which the team is developing appropriate tools to identify and prioritize investments and develop capacities of relevant agencies to better manage future climate risks; disasters; emergency response; and recovery. Cable cars being one of the major modes of transportation particularly in the northern region of country are required to be resilient to ensure all weather serviceability with improved safety. Hence; under the GFDRR facility the team is looking to hire a firm for cable car mapping; condition assessment and come up with a plan for improvement and upgradation.This assignment is related to cable cars owned and operated by locals; communities etc. for tourism; river crossings; transportation of local passengers and goods etc. initially for the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK).
