The objective of this assignment is to prepare a regional marine and coastal ecosystem assessment for the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. This assessment will compile and assess relevant data and information to set a regional baseline. The regional assessment will be complemented by the valuation of seagrass and mangrove ecosystems at the national level in countries targeted (Jordan; Egypt; Djibouti; and Yemen). The assessment results are expected to be used to develop an investment plan; including the identification of coastal and marine resilience interventions to support blue economy development at the national and regional levels; enhance resilience of the marine and coastal areas and ecosystems and inform related ongoing and planned interventions. The World Bank team will provide spatial maps of mangrove and seagrass ecosystems and the associated carbon stock assessments in the countries targeted to supplement this ecosystem analysis
