The World Bank received a request from the Government of Mongolia (GoM) for a pipeline operation; Urban Competitiveness and Regeneration Project (UCRP); P174001. The Project will support GoM in establishing an Eco-Industrial Park (EIP) at Emeelt; relocation of leather and wool processing firms; currently located in Khoroo 20 of Khan Uul district in UB city; to the Eco-IP; and preparatory studies for the prospective remediation and regeneration of the current industrial area in Khoroo 20 into mixed use development. Preliminary site assessments for the proposed Eco-IP site at Emeelt indicate key observations on the site physiography that could increase climate risk if mitigation is not appropriately addressed in the planning and design of the Eco-IP. The main objective of this activity is to support Government of Mongolia in developing specifications on minimum standards to mitigate against flood and seismic hazards in the planning and design of the proposed Emeelt Eco IP. The World Bank team is seeking the services of a qualified consultant firm known for doing high quality and timely work with expertise in multi-hazard risk assessment studies.
