IFC team in Mozambique is looking for a consultant to undertake a study to reevaluate the market feasibility for the biofuel sector in Mozambique. The market analysis will focus on crops as a part of the biofuel production process; covering the following topics:1) Assess and rank crops that are technically scalable to produce the 1st generation biofuels.2) Shortlist priority crops and analyze their economics; potential demand (domestic and export); and agronomy.3) Define geographical areas to make sure no indirect land use change (ILUC)/deforestation would occur; which means favoring degraded land to produce bio-feedstock in order not to compete with food production and forests.4) Take stock of research and development (R&D) on oil crops in the region and similar soil climate zones.5) Define the farming models for each crop and selected geographical area.6) Based on the above; propose realistic metrics for the growth of feedstock.7) Analyze potential incentives to primary production and/or local biorefineries and define areas in need of support from partners.
