Through this RFP, the WBG wishes to purchase a mix of CERs and VERs.

The World Bank Group is committed to leading by example for development partners and clients by incorporating a comprehensive program to measure, reduce, and offset greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and other environmental impacts in our internal operations, our facilities, major events and corporate travel. Since 2007, the World Bank Group has purchased high quality emission reductions for these purposes.  These emissions reductions have not only reduced global greenhouse gas emissions, but have contributed to sustainable development through innovative projects such as more efficient cookstoves, biodigesters, water filtration, and a variety of renewable energy projects on the national and global level.

The following provides the requirements for Certified Emission Reductions (CER) and Voluntary Emission Reductions (VER) for two different departments under for the World Bank Group: Category A – Certified Emission Reductions and Category B – Voluntary Emissions Reductions.

Through this RFP, the WBG wishes to purchase a mix of CERs and VERs. The mix will be as follows:

·       For the IFC – a mix of CERs and VERs totaling 42,817, striving for a 50/50 split, but with a minimum of  15,000 VERs.

o   IFC may reserve the right to increase the number of offsets they purchase, if budgetary situations allow for it.

·       For the World Bank: A total of 150,901 emission reductions with voluntary emission reductions (VERs) representing at least 30% by volume, with a preference for a 50/50 split.

o   World Bank may reserve the right to increase the number of offsets they purchase, if budgetary situations allow for it.

Note that emission values shown are estimates and may vary +/- 10% at time of actual purchase.

Offerors that choose to make an offer for only one category shall offer a portfolio comprising a minimum of 15,000 VERs for the IFC and 50,000 VERs for the World Bank, and include options for larger purchases,

OR

shall offer a portfolio comprising a minimum of 15,000 CERs for the IFC and 50,000 CERs for the World Bank and include options for larger purchases.
