Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) enables the World Bank Group (WBG) to achieve its mission of ending extreme poverty by 2030 and boosting shared prosperity in a sustainable manner by delivering transformative information and technologies to its staff working in over 130 client countries. ITS is one of three VPUs that have been brought together as the World Bank Group Integrated Services (WBGIS), to provide enhanced corporate core services and enable the institution to operate as one strategic and coordinated entity.
ITSPS supports the personnel systems of the WBG. Currently, the WBG HR core system is using PeopleSoft application version 9.1 with Tools version 8.52.13. The current system is a result of our PeopleSoft reimplementation project. The reimplementation effort took about two and a half years and involved staff in Human Resources, Financial Accounting, Treasury, and ITS. The current PeopleSoft system hosts three main modules: Global Payroll, Benefit Administration (BEN Admin), Personal Administration, and leverages Position Management, along with several critical and large bolt-on applications such as Tax, Pension and Self-Service solutions.
PeopleSoft version 9.2 has been identified as the final major upgrade by Oracle, and following this upgrade, PeopleSoft shifts to a continuous delivery model, "Selective Adoption". This new model will allow PeopleSoft users to upgrade modules and apply enhancements as the customer wants, and not have to wait for new major releases. The WBG will be able to take advantage the continuous delivery model for applying new enhancement as needed, but also, can utilize the latest technology that Oracle has to offer; a more modern user interface; ability to use mobile platform; cloud accessibility; customization via configuration. Other tasks, such as infrastructure improvements and PeopleTools upgrades can be scheduled when needed.
This project is an assessment of PeopleSoft upgrade from version 9.1 (Tools 8.52.13) to version 9.2 (Latest Tools, e.g. 8.55). The assessment involves evaluating the new functionality in PeopleSoft HCM 9.2, and determining the impact of the new functionalities within current WBG PeopleSoft systems on Global Payroll, Benefits, Personal Administration and critical bolt-on modules, including, but not limited to, such as Tax, Pension and Self-Service modules. Also, how to leverage the latest technical features such as fluid interface, work center, activity guides, customization configuration, cloud infrastructure options, etc.
