IFC HQ ELEVATOR REPLACEMENT PROJECT

CLOSING DATE AND TIME: MARCH 21, 2019 @ 3.00 PM EST

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) plans to modernize its 20 Elevators of their headquarters building located at 2121 Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington DC. The elevators were installed in 1996, are original, and are at the end of their useful life. In recent years, the elevators have been taken out of service more frequently due to their age. General maintenance has become very difficult and the system is outdated.

The building will remain occupied during the modernization of the elevators. Taking into consideration that there are about 3,000 staff daily, the need for vertical transportation is very important. It will be part of the Contractor’s responsibility to help IFC to find a good balance between the disruption and its consequence for staff based on the Specifications executed by ACI (Elevator Consultant). The goal of this strategic planning will be to minimize the disruption for staff without increase in the cost of the project.
