The World Bank Group’s External and Corporate Relations (ECR) helps build financial and political support for the World Bank Group and manages corporate communications and global engagement with key stakeholders, including media, civil society, foundations, private sector, donor countries, and international/ multilateral organizations, as well as employee engagement. ECR also manages strategic communications and stakeholder outreach for the World Bank’s Regions and Global Practices and leads the management of reputation risk.

ECR is looking to enhance its delivery through some external support for developing a virtual professional development conference for its staff around the world.

Event Format

•             Plan and execute fully virtual 2 or 3-morning event, 08:00-12:00 Washington, D.C. time, at end June 2022 (estimated).

•             Segments with external speakers, in either panel or keynote/one-on-one interview formats, moderated by either WB or external moderators.  With event-long MC to provide continuity between sessions.

•             Include visuals/video as appropriate (either sourced or with some developed, such as opening title sequence, and visuals between sessions) to provide visual consistency across whole event, illustrate topics, and provide engaging content.

Work Scope

•             Work with WB team to develop format, topics, agenda, and target external speaker list with an appropriate diversity of expertise and perspective, regional representation, gender, and racial balance (target 10-15 external speakers).

•             Manage all session development and speaker invitation/briefing/participation. The vendor will be required to pay any invoices for selected speakers subject to pre-agreement of any costs and invoices.

•             Possible inclusion of virtual team-building activities.

•             Develop visual branding for event and its implementation for key needs e.g., visuals/agenda notes/music to link sessions, in-session branding, presentation templates, email invitations, and digital-only conference brochure (detailed agenda with speaker bios).

•             Liaise with WB in-house virtual platform providers to plan and execute all logistics and staging, including visuals/branding elements and detailed minute-by-minute run-down and key personnel liaison/briefing, and speaker briefing and participation. Platform to be managed and hosted by WB AV team.

•             Manage full implementation of conference.
