The open source DHIS2 platform is used as national scale Health Management Information System in over 60 countries and has built a vibrant global community of practice. There is great potential for drawing on this installed base to rapidly improve and scale data use also in the education space. The presentation will give a quick overview of the expansion and use of DHIS2 for health and ongoing efforts to leverage this work for education."
about the speaker:
Knut Staring co-founded the DHIS2 information systems platform in 2004. As part of the HISP project at the Dept. of Informatics, University of Oslo, he works with ministries and global partners on the implementation of the DHIS2 platform in multiple sectors. Knut has worked extensively in Asia and Africa, and spent four years in Geneva as a Technical Officer with the World Health Organization, focusing on standards for Health Management Information Systems. He holds an MA in Economics, an MBA, and a PhD in Information Systems.
