  • Field Coordinator for the Livelihoods Transfer Impact Evaluation in Ethiopia
    The Development Impact Evaluation group (DIME), is looking for a consultant who will work as a Field Coordinator for an Impact Evaluation (IE) in Ethiopia. The consultant will join DIME from September 2019 to June 2020 with the possibility of extension based on performance and project development. The consultant will be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and work with DIME to provide field support to an impact evaluation linked to the Productive Safety Nets Program (PSNP), under the World Bank’s Social Protection and Jobs Global Practice. The consultant will coordinate the implementation of the IE work in the field, working closely with IFPRI and the project implementation team, prepare and supervise surveys and deliver training to partner government organizations as needed. The consultant will also be involved in analytical aspects of the IE.

  • Impact Evaluation Field Coordinator
    The Development Impact Evaluation department (DIME) is launching its recruitment process for 3 field coordinators (FCs) to work on a large portfolio of impact evaluation (IE) studies. Candidates hired through this process will be offered employment from September 2019 to June 2020, with the possibility of extension based on performance and project development. The consultants will be based in the country’s capital city and work with the DIME team to build client governments’ capacity for evidence-based policy-making through the cycle of several IEs. The consultants’ main responsibility will be to coordinate the implementation of the IE work in the field working closely with the project implementation team, prepare and supervise large scale survey's and delivering training to the clients as needed. The consultants will also be involved in analytical aspects of the IE.

  • Impact Evaluation Research Assistant
    The Development Impact Evaluation department (DIME) is hiring 4 research assistants (RAs) to work on a large portfolio of impact evaluation (IE) studies. The consultants will be based in Washington, D.C., and work with the DIME team and external researchers on the analysis of micro-data collected by DIME as well as other data sources such as administrative data sets. The consultants will be involved with the projects during data collection, cleaning and analysis. Hiring teams include the Agriculture portfolios in Mozambique and Rwanda, Forced Displacement, and Transport and Policy Impact.

  • Short Term Temporary (STT) Assistant Program Coordinator (part-time)
  • DECIE is seeking to recruit an Assistant Program Coordinator to support the ieConnect program of transport impact evaluations. The STT will carry out a range of support work for the ieConnect team, contributing to the organization and coordination of program activities with the potential to support ongoing research and dissemination.     The Development Impact Evaluation (DECIE) unit of the World Bank Development Research Group (DECRG) seeks to hire several consultants who will work consultant in support for the impact evaluation of the Agile Bank Program. The main responsibilities of the consultant will include logistical coordination and scheduling of interviews with World Bank Staff and conducting interviews. They will be working closely with the project implementation team. The consultant may be involved in analytical aspects of the IE. The consultant will support the roll out of this impact evaluation, focusing on survey implementation and data quality.
  • Impact Evaluation Field Coordinator: Jordan Municipal Services and Social Resilience Project
    Development Impact Evaluation (DECIE / DIME) is looking for a consultant who will work as a Field Coordinator for an impact evaluation in Jordan. Working in collaboration with various partners, the consultant’s work will primarily consist of supervision and management of the rollout of randomized project activities as well as the planning and supervision of quantitative data collection to be carried out by a professional survey firm. The Consultant will also supervise qualitative fieldwork and report on implementation progress to the research team. The Consultant will be responsible for ensuring that every part of the impact evaluation is carried out according to the study design and protocols. On the major coordination and supervision issues, the consultant is expected to work independently and to engage with internal and external counterparts with minimum guidance. Required qualifications for the position include at least a master degree in economics, political science or related social disciplines; good knowledge of impact evaluation methods, field experience managing impact evaluation in developing countries. Knowledge of Arabic is mandatory.

  • Short Term Consultant (STC) Data Scientist/Research Analyst - Colombia
    The STC will work as a research team member for the research project: “Unveiling the impact of public transport fare policies in Bogota, Colombia”. The consultant will support the geospatial and econometric analysis of automatic fare collection (AFC) data and household survey data. He/she will analyze the changes in mobility as a result of transit fare policy changes – including fare subsidies and cost of transfers. We seek candidates with expertise with geo-spatial analysis and big data, with emphasis in urban planning and transportation. Knowledge of econometric analysis is preferred. This is a short-term-consultancy for 30 non-consecutive days. The start date is ideally April 2019, with some flexibility, and with potential for working flexible hours.

    7 Impact Evaluation Analyst Extended-Term Consultants (ETC) positions
  • The Impact Evaluation Analysts will support DIME's impact evaluation portfolio. The Analysts will work closely with DIME Economists, Impact Evaluation Field Coordinators and Research Assistants on the team to produce high quality data and analysis. We seek candidates with substantial experience related to impact evaluation data. Candidates will need to demonstrate solid experience of survey collection preparation and supervision, preferably in a developing country context; strong technical skills in design and analysis of prospective impact evaluation and micro-econometrics are required, and the interest and ability to explain and communicate technical programming methodologies in an organized and systematic way. Since most of DIME’s analysis is conducted in STATA or R, advanced knowledge of one (and ideally both) of these packages is a requirement for this role. Knowledge of Python and any geospatial software is an advantage.
