The financial volume of the FIF depends upon contributions from donors. The Fund’s founding financial contributors are: Australia, Canada, China, European Commission, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, Spain, United Arab Emirates, United States, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Rockefeller Foundation, Wellcome Trust. These partners have committed over US$ 1.3 billion to date. The founding donors, joined by France, India, South Africa and the United Kingdom, have committed over US$1.4 Billion in financial contributions to date. The FIF will continue to raise funds for its work.
The FIF can receive funding from World Bank member countries or intergovernmental entities and non-governmental entities such as philanthropies and foundations, subject to approval from the World Bank as Trustee and the Governing Board.
