00:22 My name is Yase Chawga.

00:24 I'm an entrepreneur,

00:26 a digital skills trainer,

00:28 and of course,

00:29 an aspiring ward counselor for Mzu Chiputlawengu ward.

00:34 As an entrepreneur,

00:35 I run a,

00:35 a digital marketing business agency

00:38 and,

00:39 uh,

00:39 where I offer,

00:40 I provide digital skills

00:42 to various people,

00:44 employers,

00:44 students,

00:45 and of course,

00:46 business,

00:46 um,

00:47 people.

00:51 I was privileged to be invited at Mzuzu in hub Ehub to do their training

00:57 in end user computing as well as,

00:59 uh,

00:59 programming.

01:00 So while I was there,

01:02 that's when I was presented with this opportunity to go and pitch

01:05 any business idea that I had had at that particular time.

01:08 So I took it as an opportunity

01:10 and then I was,

01:11 uh,

01:12 given some more mentorship,

01:14 uh,

01:14 sessions

01:15 where we are taught,

01:16 uh,

01:16 how.

01:16 Do bookkeeping and also how to pitch our businesses,

01:20 how to manage the resources that we are going to get,

01:23 as well as other

01:25 entrepreneurship skills.

01:27 So I tried to pitch my business and

01:31 they haven't actually smiled on me.

01:33 So I happened to win that was 2.1 million.

01:37 It gave me as a startup capital

01:39 to embark on this journey.

01:43 After getting this training,

01:45 they,

01:45 as they are able to apply them into their

01:48 various,

01:48 uh,

01:49 working,

01:49 uh,

01:49 functions across the employment sector.

01:53 As for businesses,

01:55 they,

01:55 uh,

01:56 in terms of marketing,

01:57 they are able to use a social media platform to market their businesses.

02:01 And this,

02:01 at the end of the day,

02:02 accelerates their sales,

02:04 as well as they are able to,

02:06 um,

02:06 earn some profits

02:08 after selling items online.

02:11 As for students,

02:12 they are able to use these,

02:13 uh,

02:13 digital skills into the,

02:15 um,

02:15 um,

02:16 education sector,

02:17 where they're able to type,

02:18 write assignments.

02:20 Before venturing into this business,

02:22 I was an employee,

02:23 but then

02:24 as I was working,

02:25 I was facing,

02:26 uh,

02:26 challenges in terms of finances.

02:29 You know,

02:29 when you get employed,

02:31 you wait,

02:32 you wait for months,

02:33 and then you get

02:34 something that is so small,

02:35 it can't even,

02:36 uh,

02:36 accommodate.

02:37 You and meet with your basic needs.

02:39 So that's how I found myself here.

02:42 And as I'm running this business,

02:43 my interest has grown to the extent that now I

02:46 want to contest as a ward councilor after being consulted by

02:50 a few individuals.

02:52 So this whole essence of all this is just to

02:55 change the lives of people who are in my community.
