Towards an Inclusive Society in Thailand

Thailand faces a pivotal moment if it wants to reduce inequality and build a more inclusive society. In 2021, Thailand had the highest income-based inequality in East Asia and the Pacific, with a gini coefficient of 43.4%.  Immediate actions are crucial to enhance equal access to resources, services, and opportunities, reduce education and wage disparities, and address escalating living costs. Strengthening social protection and targeted assistance is key to supporting vulnerable communities.
