The Honorable Prime Minister of Bangladesh H.E. Sheikh Hasina and World Bank President David Malpass celebrated the 50-Year Partnership between Bangladesh and The World Bank in the World Bank Headquarter on May 1, 2023.
The event consisted of a series of programs including a Photo Exhibition, a cultural performance, an interaction with youth climate champions, and a discussion session commemorating this partnership. Along with the Honorable Prime Minister and the World Bank President, the discussion session also included speeches from Martin Raiser, South Asia Region Vice President, Abdoulaye Seck, Country Director for Bangladesh and Bhutan, and Kaushik Basu, former World Bank Chief Economist and Carl Marks Professor at Cornell University.
