00:10 Last year 2020,

00:11 we experienced the worst drought and salinity

00:14 in the Mekong Delta,

00:15 the major rice producer

00:17 of the country.

00:19 Many farmers lost their crops,

00:21 people carrying a lot of water containers

00:24 and standing in super long line

00:26 waiting to get or buy fresh water.

00:32 Last year,

00:33 people in central Vietnam went through record floods and typhoons back to back,

00:39 causing hundreds of human lives

00:41 and huge economic losses.

00:43 There are many more people right now aware that,

00:46 oh,

00:46 it's,

00:47 it's climate change.

00:48 But most of them would say,

00:50 well,

00:51 there's nothing much I can do about it.

01:03 Many NGOs,

01:04 including mine,

01:05 have been working with these amazing young people

01:08 so that they can implement their own projects to address their own environmental

01:12 and climate problems of the provinces.

01:15 Also,

01:16 business corporations are seeing more of their responsibility

01:20 to contribute

01:21 to a low carbon sustainable economic growth.

01:24 But I think the best part

01:25 is when,

01:27 The community,

01:27 especially young people,

01:29 are stepping up everywhere

01:31 and taking the lead of the climate movement in the country.

01:36 My vision for a successful climate action is where

01:40 the movement is led by the community,

01:42 by the young people,

01:43 but it is supported by everyone in the society.

01:47 This climate change is too big.

01:49 It's a huge crisis

01:50 that would require everyone to work together.
