00:06 My name is Fabrizio Scolini,
00:09 and I am the executive director of ILDE.
00:12 We work in Latin America
00:14 exploring the use of data for development.
00:18 And data is being used in this region to address our most pressing challenges.
00:23 Take for instance,
00:24 violence against women.
00:27 With good data,
00:28 we are able to understand,
00:30 analyze,
00:31 visualize,
00:32 and eventually collectively design strategies
00:35 to overcome this terrible problem.
00:38 Data is also being used to reform health systems and to fight against corruption.
00:44 We need better data,
00:46 we need more data,
00:47 but data alone
00:49 won't be enough.
00:52 We need citizens
00:53 to be able to understand,
00:56 critically reflect,
00:58 and eventually use this data
01:00 to build more open,
01:02 sustainable
01:03 and fair societies in our region.
