Nailya Kairbekova is Head of the Association of Developers of Karaganda region, Kazakhstan. She has led the Association from its early days, helping grow its membership from 9 companies in 2012 to 80 today. During this time, the Association was also selected to participate in the World Bank’s cluster development program. In Kazakhstan, construction is traditionally a male-dominated industry, but Nailya was able to push boundaries and find her calling in construction. This is the second story in our “Women of Central Asia” series, which celebrates International Women’s Day 2021.
