Chief Economists Panel: Addressing inequality and poverty under COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic is exacerbating inequality around the world, both across countries and within, hitting the poor hardest. At a recent conference, three chief economists - Laurence Boone, OECD; Gita Gopinath, IMF; and Carmen Reinhart, World Bank Group - discussed the long-lasting effects of the crisis on income inequality and poverty, calling for coordinated action by the international community.
