Since natural resources account for a large portion of Indonesia’s developing economy, it is crucial to have systematic accounting and valuation of natural resources. Known as Natural Capital Accounting or NCA, the system will help countries like Indonesia to recognize the economic value of natural resources and help policy-makers use this information to manage these resources sustainably. Indonesia WAVES Program (I-WAVES) was established to support the Government of Indonesia (GOI) in systematically implement NCA and use it for policy analysis and development planning.
