Despite a combination of cultural norms and limited incentives for young entrepreneurs in the south of Tunisia, Zoubeira Mallaki defied the odds and succeeded in setting up her own atelier to design and produce furniture that she sells to neighboring villages and towns. A new A US$500 million project for Tunisia aims to support key reforms to improve the business environment in order to encourage entrepreneurs, boost investor confidence, and expand access to finance to firms, young people, and women in lagging regions.
