Two innovation incubators events, Make-A-Thon and Maker Fest have helped university students in Bangladesh form a community of makers, spur innovation and promote entrepreneurship. Participants made 32 prototypes using ordinary materials or more advanced hardware and software to help save river commuters from drowning, keep rivers clean, or conduct quality control of milk. They also invented smart canes for visually impaired people, and devices for parents to find affordable toys for their kids.
