$30m Grant Signed to Fight TB Epidemic in Mine Workers

The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, and the Regional Coordinating Mechanism (RCM) representing 10 Southern African countries signed a $30 million Grant to support efforts to reduce high rates of TB in the hard hit mining sector. The World Bank serves as the Secretariat for the RCM and supports countries through the Southern Africa TB in the Mining Sector Initiative. The signing of the Grant took place at the third regional project implementation committee meeting of the TB in the Mining Sector Initiative in Johannesburg, South Africa on February 5, 2016.
