Preparing for the the Impacts of Climate Change in the Maldives

Climate change presents a challenge for every island in the Maldives, which all lie on the sea level. Any changes in the climate will greatly affect the Maldivian way of life. Every year, there are changes in the coral reefs, and more and more beaches are being engulfed by the sea. To develop in a sustainable manner and mitigate the worst effects of climate change, community ownership of projects is helping produce renewable energy, rainwater harvesting, and promote wetlands conservation to make the Maldives a carbon neutral country.
