World Bank President Jim Yong Kim said he hoped that leaders will endorse the Bank's goal to reduce extreme poverty to 3 percent by 2013 and boost shared prosperity worldwide. He also said that Bank continues to ensure that its projects are effective and free of corruption. Kim opened the World Bank's annual Spring Meetings in Washington, D.C.
