WASHINGTON, April 21 – Today, World Bank Group President David Malpass met with Svenja Schulze, German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development and Germany’s Governor of the World Bank Group.
President Malpass was pleased to update Minister Schulze on the World Bank Group’s support package for Ukraine. President Malpass and Minister Schulze discussed the food insecurity crisis and the need to scale up global supply of food, especially in developing countries.
President Malpass and Minister Schulze also discussed the WBG’s efforts on gender equality, as well as climate change. President Malpass emphasized the WBG’s focus on the integration of climate and development, a need to identify effective projects and interventions at the country level to achieve mitigation and adaptation goals, and options to mobilize financing for global public goods.
