WASHINGTON, April 6, 2021 – Today, World Bank Group President David Malpass met with Arturo Herrera, Mexican Secretary of Finance and Public Credit. President Malpass thanked Secretary Herrera for chairing the 2021 World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund Boards of Governors, noting the importance of his leadership as Mexico works to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
President Malpass and Secretary Herrera discussed the challenges of halting the pandemic in Mexico, including through an accelerated vaccination rollout, and the importance of the private sector for green, resilient, and inclusive recovery. President Malpass affirmed to Secretary Herrera the World Bank Group’s readiness to support critical development issues in Mexico and other countries in the region.
