World Bank Launches Bond in Romanian Leu

Washington, DC, October 3, 2008 – Today, the World Bank launched a Romanian Leu (RON) 150 million 2-year fixed rate note for institutional investors in Europe. The transaction was joint lead managed by ABN AMRO and TD Securities. The issue marks the World Bank’s return to the RON market, after having been the first foreign bond issuer in the domestic Romanian market in 2006.

Coupon: 9.25% annually
