The variable interest rate on World Bank loans to member countries committed since July 1982 will be 7.65 percent for the six-month period from January 1 to June 30, 1989. The rate for the preceding six months was 7.59 percent.
The rate is calculated by adding a spread of 0.5 percent to the weighted average cost during the last six months of a pool of all outstanding World Bank borrowings settled since the start of the variable rate program in July 1982.
