The World Bank signed today a loan agreement for a 5-year Swiss franc syndicated loan in the principal amount of SwF 500 million (about $200 million equivalent), carrying an interest rate of 6-1/8% payable annually with a payout price of par. The loan was signed with a syndicate of Swiss banks and a group of foreign banks domiciled in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
The banking syndicate is led by Credit Suisse with Union Bank of Switzerland and Swiss Bank Corporation as co-lead managers and Banca del Gottardo, Banca della Svizzera Italiana, Swiss Volksbank, Bank leu Ltd and Banque Cantonale de Bale (acting on behalf of a group of cantonal banks) as co-managers.
The proceeds of this issue will be used in the general operations of the World Bank.
