WASHINGTON, March 31, 2020- The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors today approved grant financing for the following project:
Health and Gender Support Project for Cox’s Bazaar District
IDA-18 Regional Sub-Window for Refugees and Host Communities: $125 million

Project Description: The project aims to improve the access to and utilization of Health, Nutrition and Population (HNP) services, as well as Gender-Based Violence (GBV) response services among the host and the displaced Rohingya population in Cox’s Bazaar district in Bangladesh. The project will renovate and upgrade health facilities in Cox’s Bazar, and Women Friendly Spaces inside the Rohingya camps. Within the camps, the project will also provide psychosocial counseling, immunization, Tuberculosis screening and treatment and nutrition services.
