WASHINGTON, March 31, 2020- The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors today approved grant financing for the following project:
Emergency Multi-Sector Rohingya Crisis Response Project Additional Financing
IDA-18 Regional Sub-Window for Refugees and Host Communities: $83.3 million
Government of Bangladesh: $16.67 million

Project Description: The proposed additional financing will support the Government of Bangladesh in responding to an emergency in Cox’s Bazar District caused by an influx of displaced Rohingya population from Myanmar. The project will benefit about 780,800 people, including 140,800 local people with better public infrastructure. This includes access to improved water sources for 365,800 people and better sanitation for 171,800 people.
