WASHINGTON, April 18, 2019 – The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors today approved the following project: Western Balkans Trade and Transport Facilitation Project.

Project Description: The Project, Phase 1 of a Multiphase Programmatic Approach (MPA), will finance the design, development, and implementation of initiatives to improve transparency and integrity, lower transaction costs, enhance inter-agency coordination, and reduce the time it takes to trade across borders. Phase 1 will focus on Albania ($20 million equivalent), North Macedonia ($30 million equivalent), and Serbia ($40 million equivalent).
