No economy can grow to its full potential unless women and men participate fully. Yet all 189 economies covered by Women, Business and the Law 2018 have at least 1 gender difference in legal treatment. For example, 104 economies have laws that keep women out of certain jobs, 166 can further assist mothers returning to the workplace after childbirth, 117 prohibit gender-based discrimination in financial services and 59 economies do not protect women from sexual harassment at work.
