Rollout and Implementation of the World Bank's Personal Data Privacy Framework

This event is the second webinar of the newly established Working Group on Law and Technology (WGLT). It will be a 60-minute virtual webinar with Ms. Tami Dokken, Chief Data Privacy Officer, World Bank as the guest speaker. Ms. Dokken will present for 30-minutes on the Rollout and Implementation of the World Bank’s Global Personal Data Privacy Policy, which will be followed by a 30-minute discussion and audience Q&A session on the intersection of data privacy, technology, and development issues.

The session will be moderated by Dr. Alberto García Gómez, UNESCO Chair in Bioethics and Human Rights.

Tami Dokken
CHIEF DATA PRIVACY OFFICER, WORLD BANK
Tami Doklen is the World Bank Chief Data Privacy Officer. She is a highly experienced privacy professional with an extensive background in privacy compliance matters. She previously served as Head of Global Data Privacy and Protection, and Associate General Counsel, at MoneyGram International, a financial services company with 350,000 agent locations in 200 countries. Before joining MoneyGram, Ms. Dokken was in-house legal counsel at a multinational hospitality company and in private practice at a US-based law firm. During her tenure at MoneyGram, Ms. Dokken led the global data privacy and data protection program. Ms. Dokken is a licensed attorney and a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) in US and EU privacy laws. Ms. Dokken is the first Chief Data Privacy Officer and Head of the Data Privacy Office of the World Bank.

UNESCO CHAIR IN BIOETHICS AND HUMAN RIGHTS
Prof. Alberto García is the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics and Human Rights and Professor of Philosophy of Law, and Constitutional and International Law at Regina Apostolorum University in Rome. Furthermore, he is a researcher at the Human Rights Institute at Complutense University and member of the following Ethical Advisory Boards: ITERA (International Tissue Engineering Research Association) Life-Sciences Network, Cryo-Save and EU Projects CASCADE and REBORNE (within 7th Framework Program). For 5 years, he was member of the Steering Committee of Bioethics in the Council of Europe, and, in 2005, he was honored with the National Prize of the Spanish Royal Academy of Doctors in the field of legal and social sciences.
