The World Bank Group (WBG) Climate Change Action Plan (CCAP) for 2021-2025 has identified high-impact climate actions to inform the World Bank Group’s future engagements and investments. A key component of the CCAP is to develop a new core diagnostic tool, the Country Climate and Development Report (CCDR), to help countries align climate action and development efforts.
The CCDR will assess threats and opportunities to the country’s development goals from climate change and identify priority policy, institutional, and investment interventions to promote climate resilient and low carbon growth. The CCDR will aim to fill key knowledge gaps to deepen knowledge on climate change adaptation and mitigation in Malawi.
The process of CCDR development will be conducted in partnership with government, private sector, academia, local and international Non-Government Organizations, development partners, youth, vulnerable groups and the media. This will be done through stakeholder engagement, to benefit from stakeholders’ perspectives and insights in the course of developing the report.
