Event organized together with LEDS LAC.

While the COVID-19 crisis provides a preview of the unprecedented disruption climate change may cause, recovery from the pandemic also offers a unique opportunity for economies and societies to prepare for these challenges.

This panel discussion among policy makers from Latin America and the Caribbean will analyze the priorities of the climate agenda and how to address the urgent measures that governments must take to respond to this new reality and ensure an inclusive recovery.

Some of the issues for discussion include:

  • How can recovery plans promote a green economy?
  • Why green makes sense for competitiveness?
  • What is the cost of not acting in time?
  • What are the financing strategies of governments to meet their climate commitments?
