  • The 33rd Annual Seminar for Senior Bank Supervisors from Emerging Economies was held virtually from October 26 – October 28, 2021.

    The objective of the seminar was to provide senior leaders of banking supervision and regulation functions with the awareness and understanding of current and emerging risks facing the global economy and financial sector. The key focus areas of the Seminar included:

    • Unwinding extraordinary Covid-19 regulatory measures;
    • Developing and implementing effective supervisory practices to address climate related financial risks and;
    • The supervision of money laundering risk in a digital age, with a focus on virtual assets.

    More than 400 participants at the level of directors of banking supervision, deputy heads of supervision, and executive staff involved in policy formulation for supervision and regulation in their respective countries attended this virtual seminar.
