Sustainable and Responsible Investment Series 2021 : Impact Investing

October 26, 2021

Kuala Lumpur

  • The International Finance Corporation estimates that up to $2 trillion is currently invested with a mandate to achieve positive impact. But investors' appetite for impact investing is much larger — up to $25 trillion, or about 10% of global capital markets. Investments of that scale could make a massive contribution to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which require about $2.6bn a year of additional private financing in low- and middle-income countries to complement government spending.

The World Bank Group and CFA Society Malaysia will be organizing its 4th webinar under the Sustainable and Responsible Investment Series 2021 with the theme of Impact Investing. The impact investing market offers diverse and viable opportunities for investors to advance social and environmental solutions through investments that also produce financial returns. Our speakers will share thoughts on how impact investing fits within the ESG investing landscape, the different approaches and elements to impact investing, the measurable results and impact these investments can achieve, and current practices and prospects in the region for advancing impact investing industry.
