Despite legal and social advances over the past two decades, sexual and gender minorities (or LGBTI people) continue to experience widespread discrimination and violence. A forthcoming report by the World Bank—Equality of Opportunity for Sexual and Gender Minorities (EQOSOGI)—examines the laws and regulations that affect the lives of LGBTI people in 16 countries, offering numerous policy recommendations designed to prevent and eliminate discriminatory practices.
Join the World Bank and a panel of experts at the 76th session of the UN General Assembly for the launch of the EQOSOGI report. Our panel—featuring representatives from government, judiciary, the World Bank, and the UN—will reflect on the findings of this new report and the legal challenges and opportunities facing sexual and gender minorities across the globe.
