Bank Recovery and Resolution Stakeholders'

May 15-16, 2019

  • On 15 and 16 May, World Bank’s Financial Sector Advisory Center (FinSAC) with support from Sweden, hosted a two-day Stakeholder Event and Workshop in Kyiv, attended by 120 senior representatives of the National Bank of Ukraine, the Household Deposit Guarantee Fund and delegates of the Verkhovna Rada, the government (MinFin) and representatives of the industry as well as civil society. 

    Participants discussed with high level international experts representing European authorities including the ECB and SRB a wide range of topics related to deposit insurance and bank recovery and resolution. Building upon tools already in place, key areas for reform and priorities for Ukraine were identified against the background of the EU Association Agreement which stipulates the compliance with the EU Directive on Deposit Insurance (DGSD) as well as the Bank Recovery and Resolution Directive (BRRD), by the end of 2019.
