This World Bank event examines the opportunities and challenges facing Tajikistan in the education sector. The discussion will center around the key findings of the “World Development Report 2018: Learning to Realize Education’s Promise.”
Issued annually since 1978, the World Development Report (WDR) assesses specific socio-economic development challenges and aims to be a valuable guide to policy-makers and global audiences. This year’s report focuses on education. Relying on empirical evidence gathered through extensive consultations in 20 countries, the report recommends concrete policy measures to help countries overcome the current crisis in education.
The audience will likely include high-level Government representatives, relevant line Ministries, including the Ministry of Education and Science, Finance, Labor, Migration and Employment and Economic Development and Trade, as well as Parliament, academic institutions, higher education institutions, employees, civil society, media, and development partners.
Presentations will be made by Ms. Keiko Miwa, World Bank Director for Education, and Mr. Cristian Aedo, World Bank Practice Manager for Education.
Presentations will be in English. Russian and Tajik translation will be provided.
Please confirm your participation, or nominate a representative, to Ms. Shahlo Norova by May 23, 2018, by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at +992 48 7015808.
