    The 30th Annual Seminar for Senior Bank Supervisors from Emerging Economies, jointly organized by the World Bank and its partner institutions, the International Monetary Fund and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, was held from October 30 – November 3, 2017, in Washington, D.C.

    Experts from the three organizing institutions and guest speakers updated participants on emerging financial sector issues and trends.  Main topics included:  latest developments in Basel, revised standardized approach on credit risk; corporate governance, implementation of Basel III’s capital and liquidity standards in emerging markets; dealing with weak banks, resolution/crisis management, proportionate implementation of key attributes; fintech, key aspects of macroprudential policies and cyber security.

    Forty-six senior officials representing central banks and financial supervisory agencies from forty jurisdictions participated in the Seminar, with all World Bank regions represented.
