Study on Adult Skills Assessment in Malaysia

The World Bank Group Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Finance Hub in Malaysia, is conducting an assessment of adult skills. The study aims to evaluate literacy, digital, and socioemotional skills among youth and adults to better prepare them for 21st-century workplaces.

The study is designed to achieve several key objectives: 

  • identify the levels of foundational skills of youth and adults (aged 15-64) in Klang Valley & Selangor,
  • identify key predictors of skills, including educational attainment (self and parental) and experience in adult education and training,
  • draw policy recommendations for policy makers on education and training systems to enhance skills for the workplace and society. 

To ensure the success of this study, the World Bank Group has engaged Central Force International Sdn Bhd as our data collection partner. This study will involve in-person interviews and assessment from 3 March 2025 to 31 May 2025. Information collected in this study is CONFIDENTIAL and subject to the Personal Data Protection Act 2010.
