Armenia: Citizens’ Perceptions on COVID-19 Pandemic

Commissioned by the World Bank, the Caucasus Research Resource Center conducted a representative survey of citizens in Armenia to better understand their awareness, attitudes and perceptions about the Coronavirus.

The survey focused on the beliefs and behavior of respondents during the pandemic, their trust towards public institutions and sources of information, the government’s response, future expectations regarding the pandemic, and how the respondents have been financially impacted by the virus.

  • COVID-19 is perceived as the most pressing issue facing Armenia (36%), followed by unemployment (33%)
  • Vast majority of respondents maintain trust in the healthcare system (54% “Fully Trust”, 27% “Rather Trust”)
  • If schools re-opened in September, 51% of parents would send their children to school
