Lead Economist and Program Leader for Prosperity for Eastern Europe

Yue Man Lee is the Lead Economist and Program Leader for Prosperity for Eastern Europe, based in Kyiv, Ukraine. In this role, she coordinates the World Bank’s Prosperity program (covering macro-fiscal, economic growth, finance, governance, and poverty issues) in Ukraine and Moldova, and leads key engagements with government counterparts.

Ms. Lee has worked at the World Bank since 2010. She has worked in multiple regions, including in fragile and conflict settings, and in a diverse set of countries, including Indonesia and Nigeria. Most recently, she was the Lead Economist for West Africa, covering four Sahel countries. In these assignments, she has led strategic client engagements, analytics and advisory programs, and complex lending operations using different Bank instruments focused on fiscal policy, structural reforms, and economic growth issues.

Before joining the World Bank, Ms. Lee worked in the public and private sectors, including as an economic advisor to the Rwandan Presidency and as a senior strategy consultant in Europe.

Ms. Lee holds a Bachelor’s in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford University and a Master’s in Public Administration in International Development from Harvard University.
