Suranga Kahandawa


Suranga Kahandawa currently works for the World Bank's South Asia Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change Unit as a Senior Disaster Risk Management Specialist. He has got nearly 12 years of experience in Disaster Risk Management. He is the Co-Team Leader for the Sri Lanka Climate Resilience Program supported by the World Bank.

Before joining the World Bank, Suranga worked for the UNDP Disaster Risk Management Programme for nearly six years, out of which 04 years as the National Program Coordinator. Suranga has contributed to a number of national level DRM initiatives in Sri Lanka since 2005 and has been a member of several World Bank supported Disaster Risk Management initiatives internationally.”
