Shabih A. Mohib, a Pakistani national, is a Program Leader at the South East Asia Country Department of the World Bank covering Cambodia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Thailand. Based in Bangkok, he is also Lead Economist, Governance.
Mr. Mohib joined the World Bank Bangkok Office in 2007. He has been the task team leader for various analytical work, projects, and technical assistance programs for the World Bank. He also manages the regional Public Expenditure Management Network in Asia.
His responsibilities in Thailand include coordinating work programs across the Governance, Macroeconomics & Fiscal Management, Finance & Markets, Trade and Competitiveness global practices. He is also the Program Leader for the work on Public Private Partnerships and Gender across the South East Asia Country Department.
Mr. Mohib has significant global experience, having previously worked in the Europe and Central Asia region, and at the Ministry of Finance in Tanzania as a Senior Policy Specialist. He regularly contributes to the World Bank’s global reports, including the East Asia and the Pacific Update. Mr. Mohib joined the World Bank as a Young Professional in 2003.
Mr. Mohib holds a Postgraduate Degree in Economics from the University of Oxford. He finished his Bachelor Degree in Economics with honors at University College London.
