Seong-Wook Kim, a Korean national is the World Bank Group Executive Director for Asia and the Pacific Constituency since September 2024.
Prior to joining the WBG Board, Mr. Kim held several senior positions in the Ministry of Economy and Finance, including Spokesperson; Deputy Minister for International affairs; Director General, International Finance Bureau; Director, International Finance Division; Director, Foreign Exchange Market Division; Director, International Financial Institutions Division (2011-2024).
He was also a Financial Attaché and Minister Counsellor at Consulate General of the Republic of Korea, New York (2016-2019). Earlier in his career, Mr. Kim worked as Chief Secretary to the Minister, Ministry of Economy and Finance (2009-2011), Senior Economist at the Bank of Korea (2005-2006), and other various positions in the Ministry of Economy and Finance (1995-2005).
Mr. Kim graduated from Seoul National University in economics and obtained master’s degree in public administration from Harvard Kennedy School.
